Adcock have undertaken the main contractor role and delivered the challenging yet very rewarding project of installing the air conditioning at Sharnbrook Amateur Theatre Trust.
The project entailed erection of scaffolding over a 300 seater auditorium to enable access 6m above the stage for ducted units to be hung from fabricated steels that were braced from the end wall across to existing beams. The Theatre wall had to be modified to allow the steels to be placed on to padstones cemented into the end wall.

The equipment selected for this project was Mitsubishi electric ducted and wall mounted units. The job had to be designed with installation planned from the stage prior to the scaffold being erected. Specially manufactured socks were fitted to the ducted units that ran the length of the Auditorium which meant the position of the fan coil units had to account for the lighting rigs, associated wiring and supports for unobstructed installation of the socks.

Working at such a great height brought issues with access for personnel and equipment so hoists and bespoke landing decks on the scaffold were built and our SHEQ Manager, Bob Wright was required to oversee safety.
Once again we have demonstrated our commitment to working in partnership with other trades with our expertise in organisation, project management and high standards of installation on a system which needs to be discreet to the public when theatre productions are taking place.
Adcock had existing projects at the Theatre and were selected to undertake this works due to our excellent reputation, this is simply the best feeling and we aim to exceed expectations every time.
