We have previously installed air conditioning and refrigeration equipment for many of the commercial buildings based at Norwich Research Park and we are very proud to have secured another job at the research park for the Quadram Institute.
The Quadram Institute is now in its final phase of fit out and we were asked to install air conditioning for the computer and server room, refrigerated coldrooms and laboratory rooms.
Air Conditioning and refrigeration is vital for the Quadram Institute as the building will be used as a facility for food and health research and endoscopy research. The research at the Quadram will support many of the other including, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals and the University of East Anglia.
The refrigerated Laboratory and coldrooms we have installed will be used as short-term storage prior to sample transfer to researchers own laboratories. The building will have the capacity for 300 scientists, 100 supporting staff and 40,000 outpatient visits per year.
The construction of the Quadram Institute building began in February 2016 with Wates Construction as the main contractor. The building has been designed by London architects NBBJ.
The expected completion of construction is expected to be mid-2018. You can see the progress of the Quadram Institute here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=52&v=gXzOVHryKjY
