The UK Government issued its first official Act on climate change in 2008, namely the 2008 Climate Change Act. The act aims to reduce the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions by at least 80% by 2050 meaning that much of our old and ageing building stock needs to move to more energy efficient, low carbon heating and cooling solutions.
Many local authority buildings are either listed or are over 50 years old which means that many of them need refurbishing or upgrading.
Adcock work both directly with local authorities as well as with construction and refurbishments companies to provide solutions that will provide long term efficiency and dramatically reduce C0² emissions. Many of the upgrades that we supply are surprisingly simple to install, often allowing the continued use of current ductwork, minimising costs and disruption.
Renewable energy solutions also offer huge cost savings and near-zero carbon emissions, allowing local authorities to do more with their budgets at a local level.
For more information on our low carbon, energy efficient solutions, please contact your local branch, who can survey your building and offer you the very best long term solutions.
