To ensure our engineers are trained to the highest industry standards, the Adcock Group has created its own, in-house, custom-built training academy to train both existing and future generations of air conditioning and refrigeration engineers.
The training is provided by Jeff Yarborough of Coolink Technical Training Services, a very experienced former college tutor with extensive industry experience.
Our apprentices are able to undertake both NVQ Levels 2 and 3, which cover a comprehensive range of skills including: Safe handling of refrigerants, mechanical and electrical elements of both refrigeration and air conditioning, pipework installation and brazing in line with the City and Guilds and Construction Industry Training Board standards.
Created with an initial investment of £200k and backed by ongoing investment of around £100,000 per year, the academy offers each trainee hands-on access to state-of-the-art facilities, including working cold rooms, and VRF air conditioning equipment, helping to raise training standards throughout the whole industry.
The training centre is now approved to deliver the new City & Guilds Refrigerant Handling Training which will become the legally required standard for refrigeration and air conditioning engineers under the F-gas Regulation.
Such are the standards being set in the Training Academy that some of our major clients are sending their staff to us for training.
